Another Great Restaurant on Seneca Lake

Stone Cat Cafe has been one of our favorites, ever since we decided to stop driving by and, instead, go in and find out why there are always so many cars parked outside. Appearances are very deceiving, indeed, as you also might be tempted to just drive by this converted fruit stand, thinking it second rate. The interior atmosphere has been described as "Funky", and as "Flower Child" ambiance, and I have often described it as a bit Bohemian. Whatever words ones uses, it is one of the best restaurants on Seneca Lake, and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable and dining on the casual deck out in back, a special treat. The Stone Cat website says that ...

Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine

Have you discovered Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine? This great restaurant on the east side of Seneca Lake was named one of the Ten Best Places to Dine in New York State according to "Frommer's Best of New York State"! It also won the 2008 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence! It's open for the season serving dinner 5 - 9, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the end of June, and in July through October they will be adding Wednesdays. Reservations are recommended. They are also open for Sunday tea every Sunday from noon - 2pm serving scones, finger sandwiches and freshly baked pastries. It is a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. They require reserv...

Many Weekend, One-Night Stays Available

We often get requests for a reservation for one night on a weekend. We always feel bad turning people down especially young couples with small children, who cannot get away for longer than one night. However, because we are a small B&B, we cannot usually accommodate those requests. The good news this year, is that we happen to have several weekends where there is a stray night available - sometimes a Friday, and sometimes a Saturday (sandwiched in- between longer reservations on both ends). This may be the ideal opportunity for some folks to come for just an overnight, on a weekend. Check our availability calendar for the dates or give us a call.

Jerlando’s Restaurant – Dinner As Good as Ever!

We were eager to try the "new" Jerlando's but couldn't make it on opening night last Tuesday, but went for dinner on Thursday. It was great to see all the familiar faces and enjoy the same great food and friendly service, but with a new, beautiful interior. It is truly a touch of Tuscany with the slate floors, hand painted murals on the walls, and umbrellas over head. We had two of our favorites: Shrimp Scampi, and Linguini with Red Clam Sauce - absolutely wonderful! And, along with a bottle of Glenora Cabernet Franc - what more could we want?

Jerlandos Restaurant, Watkins Glen, NY, Opening Soon!

Jerlando's Restaurant in Watkins Glen has been closed for expansion since January. We have missed them as they have been one of our favorite spots - to get a great Pizza or casual meal. We called today and got the word that they are opening on Tuesday, May 4th for dinner. They now occupy the entire space on the corner of 4th and Franklyn Streets. We walked by tonight and got a peek at the interior and it is just amazing. It looks like they have a full bar, and the decorating is absolutely beautiful and quite upscale. I went to their website and learned that one of their new services is that they will be accepting reservations and that they will be ...

Now, More Great Restaurants in Finger Lakes Wine Country

Another one of the great things about the Finger Lakes is all of the wonderful places to eat. Even in the winter, when many of the best restaurants close down for a few weeks, or even months, there are many from which to choose. But, as spring approaches they all begin to open and the choices are unlimited. One of our favorite, very special places is Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine. It is about a 40 - 45 minute drive from Sunrise Landing Bed and Breakfast and is, without a doubt, worth the drive from just about anywhere. Beginning their eighth season on Friday, April 16, Suzanne will be open Friday through Sunday for dinner (summer hours will likely ...
